But women can never be careful enough, can we? If we take naked pictures of ourselves, we’re asking for it. If someone can manage to hack into our accounts, we’re asking for it. If we’re not wearing anti-rape nail polish, we’re asking for it. If we don’t take self-defence classes, we’re asking for it. If we get drunk, we’re asking for it. If our skirts are too short, we’re asking for it. If we pass out at a party, we’re asking for it. If we are not hyper-vigilant every single fucking second of every single fucking day, we are asking for it. Even when we are hyper-vigilant, we’re still asking for it. The fact that we exist is asking for it.

This is what rape culture looks like.

This is what misogyny looks like.

My half-moon tattoo :)

La Luna: The 23rd card in the Mexican game, Loteria. When you draw this card it symbolizes not letting your emotions control your actions. Moons represent femininity and so does your left side. I got this tattoo on my left bicep to symbolize female power, and power over your own emotions.

“To wear or to have around you the symbol of the moon is to state your universal intention to use your intuition, to simply go with what you feel and to know that to do this is for your greater good. The crescent moon symbolizes new beginnings and the making of dreams into reality.”

first tattoo :-)

"We are made out of galaxies, we have stardust in our bones and earth in our hearts. We are made out of incredible creation"
This is my first tattoo of many. It’s a stick and poke that I did myself and it holds a pretty important meaning. It’s rough and it’s raw and I’m in love with it.

My tattoos are going to be small and subtle. I want my lover, my boyfriend, my husband to discover them slowly. When we’re in bed. When we’re in a restaurant having brunch. When it’s 2 in the morning and we’re in the kitchen talking about the universe. They’re going to be small representations of the big lessons I’ve learned through out my life. Some of them will be a visual of who I am. A person can discover my mind just the same as my body. They can get to know me if they pay attention to the little things that I do & the things I am decorated with.(Picture source.)

Ever growing, ever changing. The nautilus shell consists of ever-larger chambers in which the sea creature lives for a while until it outgrows that particular chamber. Once it grows a new, larger chamber it cannot go back to the previous ones; they no longer fit. It has no choice but to move on. Yet, the old chambers are still a part of who they are. Your past defines who you are, you don’t necessarily have to go back to your old ways, but they are still a part of who you are today.
